You’re Bummin’ Me Out, Kickstarter

I want this blog to not only be about our adventure but also about the process of creating a documentary.  Not just the fun parts, but the trials and tribulations too.  So in the interest of full disclosure, here’s the latest hitch in our plan.

Kickstarter rejected us.

Why?  I have no idea.  It’s not a huge deal because we can just use Indiegogo to fundraise instead.  But I still really want to know why!  Anyone have any insight into how kickstarter accepts and rejects projects?

  • what? kickstarter should accept everyone! your project especially, id figure they would love it. maybe its the way you worded the project…i know they want some specific guidelines. but still. indiegogo is awesome though cuz you can keep the money you earn.

  • Might have to do with what you were offering as pledge rewards? They have some stricter rules about that than Indiegogo.

  • Yeah, indiegogo will work fine. I’m TRYING to get it live right now if this internet will ever let me upload the trailer, argh! I think maybe kickstarter looked at our website and saw that we had written more about the trip than the film and didn’t like that. I don’t know though. Oh well.
